VINTAGE & RARE WW1 GERMANY BADEN SPIKED HELMET PICKELHAUBE REGIMENT

Offered is a very good condition WW1 enlisted German Grand Duchy of Baden Pickelhaube. This lovely piece retains the 1 piece gilded brass Baden helmet plate, with pre war detailed features. The lacquered leather shell is in exceptionally good condition, showing only light wear and loss of plating. The original cockades are present, with a replaced leather chinstrap with twin buckles firmly attached. The circular spike base retains the fixed ventilated spike with a small indentation to top, as well as remains of the original gilt wash. The domed rivets are all present and hold all the metal features firmly in place. The rear spine and ventilator are present. The original brown leather liner is present with all fingers showing light wear, mainly to the rare section. The front and rear skirt are firmly attached, showing the original heavy stitching and gilded brass front visor trim. There is a date stamp for 1917 and size stamp for 58, which is a large size for these spiked helmets. This Baden spiked helmet is in very good condition, with all the original parts, which is generally not the case with these 100 year old pieces, of particular note is the exceptional helmet plate.
