Offered is a rare Australian Second World War Australian Pilots Survival Machete/Knife with Scabbard.

Aluminium metal riveted grips, with central machete blade, with hook to end of factory sharpened blade. Lovely conditioned 19.5cm long blade. The light brown leather scabbard retains it’s grip fasteners & leather leg straps. Overall a well kept and scarce knife, which was issued as a survival/escape knife to RAAF pilots, perfected for use in jungle and mountainous terrain. These were a favourite amongst air crew and U.S. servicemen, often being traded, many being used into the 1950’s.
