1902 Australian Commonwealth Horse Hat badge, 2nd pattern, semi-circular copper badge, slightly curved across the bottom with thirteen stepped triangular fins in alternating sizes protruding from the top side like rays. ‘AUSTRALIA’ is embossed beneath the fins in an arch over a King Edward crown. Under this, within a scroll is ‘COMMONWEALTH HORSE’. Copper Boer War hat badge, comes complete with a 2nd pattern collar badge, both retaining their loops to rear.
