MODEL 1871 PRE WW1 ETCHED PRESENTATION GERMAN INFANTRY UNIFORM BAYONET SCABBARD

Description

Etched Model 1871 German Mauser presentation bayonet & scabbard by Wellhausen of Hannover. All brass eagle head pommel, lacking locking lever/button, with grooved brass grip. Brass quillon & muzzle ring unmarked. 48.5cm blade has etchings to both sides, polished overall, with trophies of arms, floral designs, motto ‘Mitt Gott Für Kaiser’, imperial eagle etc. Maker stamped W. Wellhausen of Hannover. Retains brass & leather scabbard, free of any damage or issues. Good piece, nicely etched. Overall length: 62cm.
