WW1 GERMAN ARMY S/14 BAYONET & SCABBARD BY SAMSON WERK

Description

Offered is a WW1 – German Army S/14 pattern bayonet with scabbard.

Bayonet features a steel birds head pommel with working release button, with good wooden grips and metal guard . The 31.5 cm long steel blade is in very good condition, retaining blood groove to both sides, maker stamped for Samson Works, V stamped to opposite ricasso & what looks to be a Bavarian issue stamp to spine. Standard black re-enamelled metal scabbard,  missing throat screw, in very good condition, numbered 8874, retaining the frog stud. Overall length 45cm.

The bayonet was manufactured to fit the GEW98 Infantry Rifle and is not often seen for sale.
