Description

Offered is a 1943 dated Orange Arsenal made Second World War 1907 pattern bayonet with scabbard.

Bayonet & scabbard features steel fittings, with pommel & working release button, wooden grips and metal guard. The 43 cm long steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and stamped XOA (Lithgow – Orange Arsenal), dated August 1943. The blade being factory sharpened only, with light use and wear. Standard leather & metal Australian Orange Arsenal marked scabbard, with WW1 era tear drop mouth piece. Mangrovite 43 (rubbed) to leather body. Overall length: 58cm long. A good used WW2 Australian bayonet, used with the classic Short Magazine Lee–Enfield No. 1 Mk. III service rifle.
