James Corocoran served in France from the 23rd December 1914 with the 2nd & 3rd Battalions of the Lancashire Fusiliers. He is mentioned in the National Roll of the Great War, stating that he volunteered for service with the Lancashire Fusiliers in August 1914, seeing heavy fighting at La Basse, Armentieres, Hill 60, Ypres, Festubert & Vimy Ridge where he was killed in action and buried in October 1916. He was Killed in Action France/Flanders 12/10/1916 and is commemorated at the Thiepval Memorial.
