NEAR MINT WW1 WW2 BRITISH 303 RIFLE BAYONET SCABBARD SWORD ARMY 1918 SANDERSON

Offered is a near mint condition 1918 dated Sanderson made First World War 1907 pattern bayonet with scabbard. Bayonet & scabbard features all blued steel fittings, with pommel & working release button, excellent condition wooden grips  and metal guard. The 43.5 cm long steel blade shows the ‘blood groove’ to the centre of each side of the blade and stamped  (Sanderson Brothers & Newbould Ltd), dated July 1918. The blade being factory sharpened only, with full grey protective finish to majority of blade. Standard leather & metal WW2 issue marked scabbard, with WW2 era mouth piece, showing very small pitted section underneath frog stud. Cliff Walsall 1941 to leather body. Overall length: 58cm long. A near mint example bayonet, as used with the classic Short Magazine Lee–Enfield No. 1 Mk. III service rifle.
