QE II BRITISH AUSTRALIAN ARMY 1897 PATTERN INFANTRY OFFICERS SWORD WITH SCABBARD

Description

Offered is a current issue 1897 Pattern Australian Infantry Officers Sword with Scabbard & knot.

Features a nickel pierced nickel guard, with Queen Elizabeth II royal cypher & crown design, with full chequered back strap. The wire bound black fish skin grip is in very good condition, with the tied dark brown leather strap & acron knot. The 83cm long, straight plated nickel blade shows good etchings of foliate patterns with royal cypher, with maker mark for Windlass. There are a couple of blemished corroded spots to blade, but generally towards the spear point. The leather scabbard is in very good condition, with light surface rubbing/wear. This is a good, well kept service sword, which could still be used in service today. Overall length 102cm.
