Offered is a 1962 – 2007 General Service Medal, with clasp NORTHERN IRELAND, impressed named 24266850 PTE. A. R. HAWKER QUEENS (edge knocked at the N in regiment) & U.N. Service Medal for Cyprus, un-named as issued. Medals court mounted for display. The QUEENS Regiment existed 1966-1992. In October 1972 the 2nd Battalion arrived in Cyprus as part of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNIFICYP), a force intended to prevent conflict from breaking out between Greek and Turkish Cypriots: the battalion returned to the United Kingdom in May 1973.
