Offered is a group of 6 WW1 & 2 medals to Captain Enoch Davies, who served with the Army Service Corps in WW1, during WW2 he was commissioned into the Territorial Army, seeing service with the Royal Artillery. 1914-15 Star, impressed named 09860 PTE. E. DAVIES. A.O.C.; War and Victory Medals impressed named 09860 PTE. E.DAVIES. A.O.C.; Defence Medal & War Medal un-named as issued & King George VI Efficiency Decoration, clasp TERRITORIAL, engraved on reverse in upright capitals CAPT. ENOCH DAVIES. R.A. 1944 28418. Medals swing mounted as worn and come with copies of WW1 medal rolls, medal index card copies of London Gazette 1941 & 1944. Most unusual “From enlistment to landing in France”, less than 2 weeks! Enoch Davies was born in 1891 enlisted in the Army Ordinance Corps on the 29/9/1915. He landed in France on the 10/10/1915. He was medically discharged 5/12/1917 due to sickness. SUPPLEMENT TO THE LONDON GAZETTE, 4 NOVEMBER, 1941.TERRITORIAL ARMY RESERVE OF OFFICERS. ROYAL ARTILLERY. Capt E Davies (28418) having reached the upper age limit relinquishes his command 5 Nov 1941. The gazette for 22 June 1944 records him being granted the Efficiency Decoration.
