Offered is a Territorial Efficiency Medal (King George V) impressed named to 6449 SJT.J.T.JACKSON. 7-FORESTERS. The medal was issued between 1921-1930. It was issued for 12 years service. It is probable that Sergeant Jackson had war time service. When the Volunteers were subsumed into the new Territorial Force (TF) under the Haldane Reforms of 1908, the 1st Nottinghamshire Volunteer Rifle Corps became the 7th (Robin Hood) Battalion, Sherwood Foresters. In 1920 the Territorial Force was reformed as the "Territorial Army" and, on 7 February, the 7th (Robin Hood) Battalion (TA) was re-raised, once more forming part of the 46th (North Midland) Division.
