This is a truly massive sword that features a full molded steel back-strap & grips with huge bowl guard, all in black paint finish, grip missing lower screw but handle is very solid.The full tang double edged blade is 89cm long with deep fuller, surface shows light signs of age and polish wear and has been bright chrome finished, clear 1918 stamping to L F& C ( Landers Frary & Clark) with slightly worn US flaming bomb stamp. This is a big , meaty sword,officially US designated as a saber it lacks any curve and was designed by 2nd Lt (later General) George S Patton. A very hard to come by blade in Australia due to its prohibitive importation size (no scabbard).
