Lance Corporal Richard Henry Powlesland was born 21/7/1872 in Okehampton, Devon. He is listed as serving with the 2nd Battalion of the Coldstream Guards, South African Field Force when he died of disease (Enteric Fever) at Hatherley, Pretoria, South Africa 9th July 1900.
