VINTAGE & RARE 1821 PATTERN LIGHT CAVALRY BRITISH MADE SABRE SWORD & SCABBARD

Offered for sale is a very well made & unique British made 1821 Pattern Light Cavalry Sword.

The guard features a three bar all nickel hilt, with original fish skin grip, wire wrapped as standard and nickel back strap, showing plating loss to grip area. There is some plating loss to the hilt, however this is commensurate with age and use.

80 cm slightly curved blade is in remarkably excellent condition, with most of the original nickel finish remaining to face. The engravings are very sharp and show trophies of arms, floral designs, cavalry cuirass & spiked helmet to both sides of the blade. There is no maker mark, however the underside spine is engraved. The scabbard retains it's floating suspension ring for hanging and small style drag. The scabbard is in excellent condition, showing no dents and only a small loss of plating to upper throat chape.

This is an exceptionally well made sword, which will be a great addition to your collection. Overall length: 98cm.
