WW2 GERMAN ARMY ORDNANCE SWORD & SCABBARD BY ALCOSO SOLINGEN 1935

Description

Offered is a pre WW2 era issued German Army Ordnance Sword with Scabbard by Alcoso of Solingen.

The sword features a brass backstrap and doves head pommel, with wire wrapped black celluloid grip and leather finger loop. The plain langets are in great conditon, with the underside being maker stamped AC/G (1935 code dated) & issue numbered 9152. The slightly curved, fullered 71cm long, nickel plated steel blade is in very good condition, with Alcoso ‘scales’ trademark to ricasso, with ‘3’ stamped to spine. The blade fits tightly into the black enamelled service scabbard, retaining it’s floating suspension ring, generally good overall with matching issue number & maker stamps. There is the usual waffen stamps all over the sword. Sword measures 88cm overall, being in exceptionally fine condition. These swords rarely come up for sale and in such condition as this are desireable.
