1865 BRITISH SWORD ARMY POLICE CUTLASS NAVAL CUSTOMS OFFICERS BY MOLE

Description

Offered is an original 1865 – 1887 pattern British Police Naval Customs sword, from the early 1800s by Mole. 

Features solid brass hilt & guard, with shagreen sharkskin wrapped grip and working push button locking button to hold into scabbard throat. Superbly forged and hand finished 61.2cm long, wide cutlass curved blade is in fine condition with a plain, bright metal surface, MOLE maker stamp to back edge with lightly sharpened front edge. Original brass and leather scabbard is a good fit to the blade with no sign off shrinkage with throat locking into hilt. The leather shows some thread loss along seam.

A very fine heavy duty cutlass showing quality craftmanship, this one is a very desirable display piece with a very meaty cutlass blade. Sword measures 75.5cm, 79.6cm in scabbard.
