Offered is an original 1790s – 1820s pattern British Army Bandsman sword, from the early 1800s.    Features very ornate solid brass one-piece hilt & guard, superbly cast with mythical Loch Ness Scottish style water-hound/lion or dragons head pommel all skilfully hand finish. The guard shows floral decorations with light wear and age toning overall. The 75cm long, curved sabre blade is in fine condition with a plain, bright metal surface, no maker stamp with 5-6 thumbnail nicks to the lightly sharpened front edge. Original brass and leather scabbard is a good fit to the blade, with no sign of shrinkage.   A very fine...

A very fine sabre showing quality crafting, sword pattern is late 1700's early 1800's where the regiments were given leeway to the design of their bandsman swords and at 87cm long, 89.5cm in scabbard, this one is a very desirable display piece.
