Offered is an original 1853 pattern British cavalry sword by Weyersberg of Solingen, an iconic sabre as carried by the British dragoons in the Crimean War. Features a solid steel 3 bar hilt & guard with steel pinned checkered leather grip. Superbly forged, massive 90.2cm long, slightly curved blade, which is in fine condition with a plain, buffed, bright metal surface, with knights-head maker & British crowned 22 inspectors stamp to ricasso & “B” stamp back edge, lightly sharpened & nicked front edge. A very finely balance light cavalry sabre showing quality craftsmanship, this one is a very desirable display piece carried by British mounted forces throughout the Empire including Australia. Sword measures 104cm, 106.5cm in scabbard.
