VINTAGE WW2 GERMAN POLICE OFFICER’S SWORD, SCABBARD & KNOT BY WKC

Offered for auction is an excellent condition, mid 1930’s era example of the Police Officer’s sword & scabbard by W.K.C.

Solid nickel hilt fittings, screw-type pommel and a separate threaded stepped nut all are in good condition. The black wooden grip, is in excellent condition with majority of its black finish with wire wrap & brass Ordnungspolizei emblem, which is set flush and firmly in place. The nickel ‘D’ shaped guard is in very good condition, retaining the original police bullion knot, correctly tied in place. The 79 cm blade is in very good condition and correctly maker marked for manufacture by W.K.C. (Weyersburg Kirschbaum & Cie). The scabbard retains most of its original black finish, the solid nickel upper and lower fittings are in good condition and firmly in place. The drag shows light service wear and the main body of the scabbard is dent and damage free, with the sword drawing and re-sheathing with no resistance. Overall length: 95 cm. Scarce.
