British 1786 Pattern Infantry Officer’s 5 Ball Hilt Sword & Scabbard, Prince of Wales. Features a fire gilded Adam design pommel, with hand engraved details, lanyard ring on 5 ball brass knuckle bow, with flat circular gilt finish brass quillon. The reeded ivory grip is in excellent condition, with plain brass/ gilt badge, middle and lower brass band. The curved 74.5cm long blade, shows engraving to both sides, with royal cypher of King George and trophies of arms, scrolls, urns, Britainnia and victory cherub etc. Blade in generally very good condition. The leather and gilded (worn) brass scabbards in very good condition, with all original stitching present with embossed Prince of Wales 3 feather motif to the leather facing. Overall length: 90.6cm.
