POST WW2 AIR FORCE GENERAL SERVICE MEDAL PALESTINE 45 WARRANT OFFICER WHITE RAF

Description

Offered is a General Service Medal (1918 -62) 1 clasp Palestine 1945-48 to Warrant Officer A. White, who served there with the Royal Air Force. Medal in near mint condition & impressed named WO A T WHITE (1624719) RAF. The R.A.F in Palestine flew a variety of planes including Lancaster Bombers, Halifax Bombers, Spitfires, Tempests, Photo reconnaissance Mosquitoes and even Horsa Gliders. Apart from flying anti-immigration patrols, it also provided support to the Army. The RAF lost several planes to Jewish terrorists attacks on the ground and at the end it was attacked by the Egyptian Air Force as well as the Israeli Air Force. A hard time to be a soldier at the end of the empire.
