POST WW2 BRITISH GENERAL SERVICE MEDAL SOUTH ARABIA ROYAL AIR FORCE

Description

Offered is an original General Service Medal 1962-2007, with clasp South Arabia, to Flight Sergeant Jones, who served there with the Royal Air Force.

36mm circular silver medal with ornate scrolled ribbon suspension bar with ‘SOUTH ARABIA’ clasp; the face with the crowned head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, circumscribed ‘ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F.D.’ (Elizabeth II by the Grace of God Queen Defender of the Faith); the reverse inscribed centrally ‘FOR CAMPAIGN SERVICE’, a Tudor crown above, all within an oak wreath; attributed on the edge to Y 1236885 FS. A. W. JONES. R.A.F.; very good condition or better, with light wear & couple of small scratches to obverse, retaining its original ribbon.
