Offered is a British WW1 Victory Medal, impressed named S.LT. W.S. GUNNING. R.N.V.R., Comes with copies service papers, photograph, medal roll and Navy lists 1918. Sun Lieutenant William Sinclair Gunning was born 26/7/1897 at Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Ireland. The 1911 census records that he was still living at that address. He was commissioned in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve 8/6/1918 at a Temporary Sub Lieutenant and posted to the ML. 303. He was demobilised 17/6/1919 and died 21/5/1986 at Bridport, Dorset. The motor launches were mainly used in anti-submarine patrols.
