Lieutenant Thomas James Thubrun, was born on the 9/3/1884 at Newcastle on Tyne. An Engineer by trade, pre-war he was working in Australia as a Second Engineer in various ships. Lieutenant Thomas James Thubrun, was born on the 9/3/1884 at Newcastle on Tyne. An Engineer by trade, pre-war he was working in Australia as a Second Engineer in various ships.

On the 11/10/1915 he enlisted with the Royal Navy Reserves as an Engine Room Artificer. He was stationed at HMS Pembroke 14/10/15 – 6/11/15. HMS Wallaroo 6/11/15 – 1/5/16 (guard ship off Brightlingsea, Essex) HMS Pembroke 2/5/16 – 9/8/16. HMS Centaur 9/8/16 – 31/3/17(C-class light cruiser) HMS Victory 1/4/17 – 1/4/18 and demobilised. His medals were sent to a postal address in Melbourne and by 1943 his postal address was Perth Western Australia.
