Offered is a rare 1852 pattern Navy Officer’s presentation sword. This looks to date from the 1950’s and features a faux ray skin pebbled wire bound grip, mounted onto a frosted gilded nickel back strap & USN laurel leaf branched guard. The blade has battle & laurel leaf etchings running 2/3 down the length of both sides of the 72 cm thin straight blade. Excellent condition US eagle and ‘US’ & sailor ‘s mottos to etc. The blade is in excellent condition showing good frosting to the intricate engraving. Stamped ‘MADE U.S.A. to ricasso. The scabbard retains both suspension rings...

This looks to date from the 1950's and features a faux ray skin pebbled wire bound grip, mounted onto a frosted gilded nickel back strap & USN laurel leaf branched guard. The blade has battle & laurel leaf etchings running 2/3 down the length of both sides of the 72 cm thin straight blade. Excellent condition US eagle and 'US' & sailor 's mottos to etc. The blade is in excellent condition showing good frosting to the intricate engraving. Stamped 'MADE U.S.A. to ricasso. The scabbard retains both suspension rings for hanging and large style maritime ornate drag. The leather outer is in fine condition. The scabbard is likewise in excellent condition with good remaining frosted gilding.

Overall length: 88cm. An excellent example.
