Offered is a pre-WW2 era, matching numbered German Army Ordnance sword with scabbard by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen.

The sword features a toned brass backstrap and doves head pommel, with partial wire wrapped black celluloid grip, minus the leather finger loop. The plain langets are in great condition, with the underside being maker stamped CE/G, with Reichswher eagle issue stamp & numbered 14502. A well-used leather and bullion portepee knot is tied to the guard and grip. The slightly curved, fullered 86.5cm long, nickel-plated steel blade is in good, used condition, with Carl Eickhorn ‘squirrel’ trademark to ricasso, with ‘1’ stamped to spine (this number denotes this to be the largest issue blade in this category of sword). The blade fits tightly into the black enameled service scabbard, retaining its floating suspension ring, generally good overall with matching issue number & maker stamps. There is the usual waffen stamps all over the sword. Sword measures 102cm overall, being in overall good condition.

These swords rarely come up for sale and as such, are desirable.
