Offered is a Victory Medal (1914 – 18) impressed named CAPT. A.E. TAYLOR. Comes with copies service record & embarkation list. Captain Arthur Ernest Taylor was born 27/2/1871 in Hastings, England. A qualified Doctor, he emigrated to Australia and was living in Dandenong when he was commissioned into the Australian Army Medical Corps on 15/7/1917. He was 45 years old at the time. He left Melbourne on 7/9/1917 landing in the Suez 20/10/1917 and was posted to the 14th Australian General Hospital. 22/2/1919 to the 2nd A.G.H. & 7/5/1919 to the Australian and New Zealand Mounted Division. On 23/7/1919 he embarked for Australia. He transferred to the reserve 1/7/1925 and died 29/4/1939, still serving.
