1 in stock
Vintage WW1 era large framed picture of 28719 Gunner George Washington Turnbull, 5th Brigade, Australian Field Artillery, who was Killed in Action around Ypres on the 18th of August 1917.
The picture consists of a central oval with coloured photo of Turnbull and cards showing his name and him being a life member of the West Australian Amateur Sports Club (incorporated). This is set in a glass fronted wooden frame. The frame shows some age wear as shown with a drill hole to base (more than likely a removed brass plate) and shows water staining to reverse. Frame measures 75cm x 100cm.
Comes with a small number of copied service papers showing KIA details, grave details etc. Rare to see one of these period pictures have survived. This was hung in a local antique dealers shop for decades, so many WA customers will more than likely recognise this picture.
Local pickup from Perth is encouraged, otherwise we will be more than happy to post this out to you.
