Offered is an original WW2 German Army tropical sun helmet (tropenhelm) as worn by the Afrika Korps. This sun helmet features all olive drab felt construction. The Wehrmacht shield and national colours shield match and are original to the helmet. The exterior is in excellent condition displaying light wear. The air vent is undamaged and present. The chinstrap and leather trim along the brim are in excellent condition. The interior features a leather sweatband featuring the maker's stamp RF to the underside of the leather sweat band as well as size 57 and 1942 date. A rarely seen piece of Afrika Korps headgear. Most I have seen are either squashed, broken or in poor condition, this one is in exceptionally fine condition.
