R.A.F.; Royal Air Force Long Service & Good Conduct (E.II.R.) impressed named 578403 CH. TECH. J.K. DARBY. R.A.F. Court mounted for display. James K Darby looks to have seen home service during WW2, however his brother, Captain W. Darby served in the Royal Army Medical Corps & won the Military Cross in the western desert. Captain Darby died on 5 December 1942 and is buried in the Heliopolis War Cemetery on the outskirts of Cairo. Their father, Second Lieutenant J. K. Darby, West Yorkshire Regiment, late Royal Army Medical Corps, served during the Great War.
