Stoker Petty Officer Harold Frederick Bone,?was born on the 2/9/1881 in Gosport, Hampshire. He joined the Royal Navy on the 6/10/1899 as a Domestic 3rd?Class (Boy 3rd class - a boy aged 14 to 18 who served either as a domestic (waiter, steward) aboard the port flagships or as a junior clerk or storekeeper in the ports. He would be eligible for entry to a training ship as a boy 2nd class from age 15 if he met the physical requirements).

He served on a variety of H.M. ship and shore establishments including: Excellent, Duke of Wellington, Gibraltar (Edgar-class cruiser), Blanche, Vernon, Hermione, Seagull, Fisgard, Hercules, Vindictive.

WW1: H.M.S Latona (Mine layer) 1/8/1914 ? 8/3/1915. Victory II (Shore base that administered stokers in a variety of small ships) 9/3/1915 ? 17/4/1916. H.M.S. Royal Sovereign (Revenge class battleship) 18/4/1916 ? 26/10/1917. Victory II 27/10/17 ? 30/11/17. H.M.S. Dido (Depot ship for 10th?Destroyer Flotilla) served on H.M.S Spencer (Destroyer and Flotilla leader) 1/12/1917 ? 31/12/1918.

Post war he served Hecla, Spencer, Barham, Victory II, to shore pension 8/10/1921 as a P.O. and joined the Royal Fleet Reserve 9/10/1921.
