Court mounted for display. Comes with copies of M.I.C., medal rolls, Field Ambulance extract and birth extract. John Biddlicombe Lockyer?was born in Jul 1884 Portsea Island, Hampshire. He enlisted into the British Army Royal Engineers in 1902 and was given the service number 186641 and later 11761. He landed in France as a Sapper 19/8/1914 with the 59th?Company R.E (5th?Division). He would have been present for the Battle of Mons & the Battle of Le Catea. He was admitted to the 14th?Field Ambulance 16/10/1914 with ?rheumatism? and transferred to Bethune. He was medically discharged 13/10/1915 but re joined the Military Foot Police 6/8/1917. He was given the new service number 1564. He continued to serve with the M.F.P in Iraq but was given the new post war service number 7681573. He served in Baghdad under the A.P.M (Assistant Provost Marshal) 8/4/1920 ? 19/2/1921.
