A British Defence and War Medals (1939 - 45), unnamed as issued, General Service Medal (1918 -62 G.VI), with clasp PALESTINE 1945 - 48, impressed named CAPT R.H.W. JONES. SUFFOLK. Court mounted for display and comes with copy medal roll and London Gazettes.
Captain Ronald Henry William Jones was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant 25/8/1945.
In 1946 he was stationed with the Essex Regiment, and promoted to Lt 22/9/1945.
Posted to 1st Battalion Parachute Regiment & seconded to 1st Battalion Suffolk Regiment 23/4/1946 - 1/10/1947. After the Second World War, the 1st Battalion Suffolk Regiment, were sent to Palestine, serving as part of the 3rd and then the 1st Infantry Divisions, before being withdrawn from Jerusalem in May 1948.
Corps of Royal Military Police, from Essex Regt, emergency commission to be Lieutenant 25/8/1948. Essex Regt from C.M.P (T.A) to be Lt 5/9/1950. Essex Regt to be Captain 19/1/1954. Corps of Royal Military Police. Short service commission from Active List. 1958
