Description

Offered is an original post war British Royal Marines/Parachute Regiment use 3rd pattern Fairbairn Sykes knife. Good dulled brass ribbed grip, maker marked cross guard for R Cooper of Sheffield. Very good blackened double edge blade, measuring 17.5cm long, great condition, which fits well into the service shaped leather and brass scabbard, showing the retaining strap has bent and contorted from much use. Overall the knife and scabbard measure 32cm long.

From a recently acquired collection here in Perth, direct from the family of a British Royal Marine, who went on to join the Paras, seeing serving in Borneo and Northern Ireland, who finally served the last 5 years of his career in the Australian Army. The veteran is still alive and at the request of the family, we won’t be releasing his details. More items from this collection will be sold in the coming auctions.
