Rare mid war ‘Chicken Wire’ patterned Model 1942 camouflage steel helmet. This helmet retains the majority of the original dark green and sand pattern camouflage, showing the last paint application was made over the chicken wire net that had been attached to the helmet. The Heer decal is still 90% present, showing age crazing and scratches. The liner is present, showing sweat staining to crown and flaking from the edge. The tabs are all present with creases to the drawstring holes. The rear skirt shows 1871 stamped and hkp64 (Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke, Lauter – sized 64). Overall an excellent...
