Offered is an original pre WW1 era French 1892 Manlicher Berthier bayonet & scabbard by Nationale d’Armes de Châtellerault (MAC). Bayonet features steel fittings overall, with matching numbered issue stamps to 1st pattern crosspiece quillon & scabbard A 67576, with flat head pommel with working external release button, slot bolt wooden grips & muzzle ring. The 40 cm long steel blade is unsharpened to blade edge, retaining the clear spear point, with blade being in good condition overall, with clear inspection stamps. Standard metal scabbard with matching numbered stamp to frog hook, being in very good original shape, showing no major dents or damage, with very good original finish. Blade fits very nicely into the scabbard. Overall length: 52.5cm. The bayonet was issued for use with the 8 mm. Mannlicher-Berthier M1890 Carabine de Cavalerie (cavalry carbine); and, M1892 and M1916 Mousqueton de Artillerie (artillery carbine).
