WW2 GERMAN THIRD REICH WAFFEN SS CAVALRY OFFICER’S UNIFORM PEAKED CAP

Offered is an early war quality, very good condition Waffen SS Cavalry Officer's peaked cap by J. Scalmeyer of Hamburg. This cap features a field grey wool crown, with yellow 'Cavalry' piping overall, with nickel/aluminium SS eagle & swastika with SS skull & cross bones totenkopf badge below. The crown face shown light mothing with a couple of small track marks to the top of the saddle shaped body. Black velvet band, with bullion chin chords and side buttons. Peak is firm and shows very light wear. The brown interior silk liner shows use and light use, with commensurate light wear to the leather sweat band, which is stamped DL 'Deutsches Leder'. The maker stamp is present to the centre of the interior silk, which retains it's celluloid diamond. Large size, approx. size 59. This is a very good condition piece to a rarely seen arm of the Waffen SS.
