For sale is a India General Service Medal (1854 – 95), with clasp LOOSHAI, period engraved Havdr Jungbeer Rana 4th Goorkha Regt. The expedition was mounted to recover a 6 year old girl who was kidnapped when her parents were murdered by Lashais tribesmen who were conducting a series of robbery and murder raids in Assam in 1871. The expedition was successful in freeing the girl and other captives and enforcing a peace on the Lashais for another 17 year.
