6 Bn Norfolk Regiment WW1 & India medals Warman Royal Artillery Afghanistan 1919
British War Medal; India General Service Medal (G.V.R.) with clasp AFGHANISTAN N.W.F. 1919.; Victory Medal, all impressed named 122695 DVR. L.A. WARMAN. R.A. Swing mounted as worn. They come with copy medal rolls, medal index card, 1939 census and newspaper article. Leonard Arnold Warman was born on 14/12/1888 in Great Fransham, Norfolk, England. Prior to the Great War he was serving with the 6th Battalion Norfolk Regiment (cyclist) service # 677. He enlisted on 28/11/1910 serving until the 27/11/1915 being the termination of his engagement. The battalion was home defence only. He subsequently joined the Royal Artillery serving as a Driver with the service # 122695. He was still serving post war in India with the 21st Brigade R.F.A. qualifying for the IGSM with clasp Afghanistan 1919. The roll finalised in 1922 records him as being demobilised. He returned to Norfolk and on the 1939 census he is recorded as a Rural Postman residing in Salisbury and a member of the A.R.P. He died on 16/11/1973 in Bishopstone, Wiltshire, England.
