For sale is a British War and Victory Medals (1914 – 18), impressed named 307708 PTE R.G. STEVENS. TANK CORPS. Court mounted and comes with copies of casualty extract, medal index card and medal roll. Private Richard Grenfell Stevens served with the 15th Battalion Tank Corps when he appears on the casualty lists for 14/9/1918 as wounded. The casualty lists are generally about 4 – 6 weeks late from the incident date as a rule of thumb. The battalion was involved in several attacks in August 1918 suffering losses. The 15th Battalions tanks were all named beginning with ‘O’ The casualty list gives his next of kin as living in St Ives (Cornwall) and it is believed that Richard Grenfell Stevens was born in April 1889 in St Ives and died on 22/12/1956 in St Ives.
