Display court mounted group of 9 to William John Gosling, who served from the First World War through to and including the Second World War in both the Regular and Territorial Army. Medals include:

William John Gosling looks to have been a very long serving member of the British Army, having accrued two Territorial service medals, as well as the 1953 Coronation medal. He served in 4 different units during the First World War, firstly with the 3rd (Reserve) Norfolk Regiment, 2/6th (Wolverhampton, 2nd Line) North Staffordshire Regiment, Labour Corps (Regimental number 609405 shows transfer to Labour Corps May to September 1918 from casualties of August 1918) & finally Royal Fusiliers. Interwar he is serving in the Royal Engineers (T.E.M.) and finally Royal Military Police. Second World War service shows France & Germany, so most likely a D-Day plus veteran.
A good two World War long service combination medal group, showing service with at least 3 different corps within the British Army.
