*SOLD* Western Australian Pensioner Guards sword, being a cut down 1796 pattern Heavy Cavalry Sword & Scabbard. 2nd Queen’s Dragoon Guards stamped to scabbard & steel hilt. Grip shows remains of leather covered grip, through to wooden base. Steel backstrap and pierced guard show light wear and cleaned pitting. 74cm thick blade shows light wear and sharpening, being cut down and repointed for service in the colonies. Crown & number ‘3’ stamped to lower blade. Cut down scabbard retains both suspension rings. Bought from the family of the Pensioner Guard. Overall length: 87 cm.
