Imperial Russian M1889 Chevalier Guard trooper’s helmet. Tombac body, sloped front visor and ‘lobster tail’ rear visor, trimmed in nickel silver. Russian Order of Saint Andrew star, with raised central planchet emblazoned with the motto ‘For Faith and Fidelity’ in enamel. Helmet surmounted with a silver plated, finely detailed double-headed crowned eagle with outspread wings and St. George coat of arms on breast. Imperial marked on shell, under eagle. Leather & silk liner look to have been replace, but overall a stunning and well presented piece.
