36mm wide circular bronze medal with claw and ornate scroll swivel ribbon bar with ‘WAZIRISTAN 1901-2’ clasp; the face with the crowned head and shoulders portrait of King Edward VII facing left in Field Marshal’s uniform, circumscribed ‘EDWARDUS VII KAISAR-I-HIND’ (Edward VII Emperor of India); the reverse with a view of Jamrud Fort and the entrance to the Khyber Pass, inscribed ‘INDIA’ on a plaque below with oak and laurel branches to either side; engraved named Bhisti Bilu 32nd. Pioneers; on original ribbon. The medal was instituted on 1 January 1909 for service in campaigns on India’s borders.
