Vietnam Medal, 1964, with M.I.D. device affixed to the ribbon, impressed named 55840 G. LAURENSON. It comes with research by Lt. Colonel Neil Smith. M.I.D. unconfirmed.

George Laurenson was born on 16/2/1946 in Fremantle, Western Australia. He enlisted into the Australian Regular Army on 22/10/1968 and completed selection and training with the Australian Special Air Service Regiment the following year. He served in South Vietnam with 1 Squadron S.A.S.R. from 18/2/1970 – 18/2/1971. He discharged from the Army on 24/5/1973. A prominent rugby union player with the Cottesloe Club (W.A.), Inter-Service and interstate teams. He died on 23/5/2017. He is listed in the book SAS Phantoms of the Jungle and appears twice in SAS A Pictorial History of the Australian Special Air Service 1957 – 1997.
