Offered is an original and near mint condition British Delhi Durbar 1911 Medal. 38mm wide circular silver medal on shaped swivel loop suspension; the face with the crowned head and shoulders portraits of King George V and Queen Mary in coronation robes in relief, facing left within a floreate wreath; the reverse with a central circular panel inscribed ‘Delhi 1911’ in Persian script, circumscribed ‘The Durbar of George V, Emperor of India, Master of the British Lands’ in Persian script; the medal is chisel engraved to: 12356 . L. CORPL F. C. BRYANT. 1ST MIDDLESEX REGT on an original ribbon. Only 32 Delhi Durbar medals were awarded to members of the Middlesex Regiment, Bryant being awarded his medal as part of the Durbar Committee. Frederick Charles Bryant was a regular soldier in the middlesex Regiment & served in India from 1903 to 1911 in India. During the First World War he served in France 7/4/1915 with the 2nd & 13th (Mill Hill) of the Middlesex Battalions, achieving the rank of Warrant Officer Class II.
