Offered is an original St. Andrew’s Ambulance Association, Ambulance Corps Jubilee Medal.

36mm wide circular silvered medal on claw and ribbon bar suspension; the face with the standing figure of St. Andrew, a cross decussate (St. Andrew’s cross) beyond, within a stippled ring inscribed ‘ST. ANDREW’S AMBULANCE CORPS • 1904 1954’, the reverse inscribed ‘CORPS / JUBILEE / REVIEW BY H.R.H / DUKE OF EDINBURGH / GLASGOW / 13TH OCT. 1954’, a thistle below; un-named as issued on original ribbon.

The medal was awarded to members of the St. Andrew’s Ambulance Corps present at the review at Ibrox Park in Glasgow to mark the fiftieth anniversary of its foundation. The St. Andrew’s Ambulance Association was founded in Glasgow in 1882 in order to provide an ambulance service and basic first aid and the St. Andrew’s Ambulance Corps was set up in 1904.
