1938 NAZI OCCUPATION OF AUSTRIA SERVICE MEDAL, CASED

Description

1938 Commemorative medal of the occupation of Austria into the greater germanic reich medal. On the obverse of the medal, symbolic of Austrian adhesion to the German realm, a man holding the Nazi flag stands on a dais bearing the emblem of the “Third Reich”, On the reverse is the inscription “13. März 1938” (March 13, 1938), the date of the Anschluss; the date is surrounded by the words, “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer” (“One People, One Empire, One Leader”). The medal itself retains over 50% of it silver wash and comes with a length of original ribbon and a pin. The case is covered in  red leatherette which shows some scuffing and staining, the catch and hinge work perfectly.
