Offered is an original 1951 dated CMF service badge. Burnished metal badge, with attached loops bar to rear, maker marked for Swann & Hudson Victoria. Issued to all members of the Citizen Military Forces in Australia for wear with civilian clothes between 1948 and 1953. Instituted by the Minister for the Army.Mr. J. Francis. Members who enlisted voluntarily were issued with the badge either upon attestation, or, in the case of serving members, on acceptance of an obligation to serve abroad. The badge was to be returned ‘upon termination of appoint-ment or period of engagement’.
